This Lady of the Night
Each night as the world goes to sleep...
I go to work...watching this machine as if my life depended on it.
Answering phones until sunrise and talking with drivers traversing the
roads...hoping they make it safely to their destinations.
The dark blue sky is all we really have in common.
They have a road before them
and I have a few devices to help me help them.
The night gives way to sunlight
and as the world welcomes its new day
I struggle to push through the morning hours until my time
is up...and they've made their journey safely.
So when you take in the scent of your first cup of coffee...
when you admire the rising sun in the east
Know that the night was alive and wondorous
As I drift off to sleep.
I go to work...watching this machine as if my life depended on it.
Answering phones until sunrise and talking with drivers traversing the
roads...hoping they make it safely to their destinations.
The dark blue sky is all we really have in common.
They have a road before them

The night gives way to sunlight
and as the world welcomes its new day
I struggle to push through the morning hours until my time
is up...and they've made their journey safely.

when you admire the rising sun in the east
Know that the night was alive and wondorous
As I drift off to sleep.
